Norwich Technologies Research & Development Division is focused on developing and commercializing next generation clean technology solutions. Our team of R&D engineers and scientists has received numerous research grants from the Department of Energy and National Science Foundation to develop our next generation technologies.
Our patented, passive SnowShedder device boosts winter solar energy production by accelerating snow runoff. Proven through years of testing and supported by a U.S. Department of Energy commercialization grant, this technology is currently deployed across PV arrays in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
Our SunTrap 24/7 Solar Generation System, now spun off as the independent company Durion, offers reliable, low-cost renewable energy by combining solar PV and concentrating solar power with proprietary, cost-effective thermal energy storage to help businesses at a distributed scale fully decarbonize their energy loads.
Working in collaboration with Norwich University engineering students we designed a vertical racking system for bifacial panels that optimizes material costs, material usage, installation costs, and installation time – while meeting all code requirements. The innovative design incorporates solutions for complicated terrain, durability and end-of-life considerations, as well as aesthetics and potential permitting requirements.
For us, innovation means applying forward-looking renewable energy solutions, smarter processes, and practical technical improvements that help projects perform better and deliver more value.
No. It also includes how we plan projects, solve challenges, coordinate delivery, and support long-term performance across development, EPC, and operations.
We focus on creating proven, practical improvements that support project success without losing sight of safety, constructability, long-term performance, and predictable outcomes.
It helps clients decarbonize faster, gain more efficiency, better-performing systems, and clean energy solutions that are designed to meet real-world operational and financial needs.
